ATAv Shutdown - Frequently Asked Questions

• What will happen to my logbook & profile?
  
  Your profile information will remain secure and publicly accessible as it was always, on the roster pages - to ensure you are not "cheated" out of hours. We know you've worked hard to proudly wear your ATA wings, and should you want to transfer your hours to another virtual airline, we want to make sure the next virtual airline is able to verify the hours you logged at ATAv. We will make every effort to keep the website and rosters online as long as possible, and can guarantee the website will remain online until at least February 2009 (although we anticipate it will remain on longer than that).
  
  For information about your logbook, see the question below regarding it.
  
  
• Did the owners of the real-world ATA force ATAv to shut down?
  
  No, they did not, and have not been in contact with ATAv in an official manner in any way since their original permission was given for us to operate in 2004. This decision was made 100% by ATA Virtual management.
  
  
• Will the forums stay open?
  
  The forums will be closed, and all threads locked. If you are looking for a specific forum topic from the archives, please contact management at help@atavirtual.com.
  
  
• Will Teamspeak server be kept online?
  
  No, the Teamspeak server has been shut down and will remain closed indefinitely.
  
  
• What happens to my PIREPs that were pending, or that I hadn't filed yet?
  
  All pending PIREPs that were valid upon the time of shutdown were approved, and credited to your logbook. If you had completed a flight but did not file the PIREP before the shutdown, we unfortunately are unable to process your PIREP. If you had an invalid PIREP at the time of the shutdown, we were also unable to allow you to remedy the PIREP.
  
  
• Can I still fly using the ATA airplanes I downloaded from the fleet page, or fly flights under the "AMT" callsign on VATSIM?
  
  Yes, and we hope pilots will continue to enjoy the many great aircraft which many members of the FS community have devoted time to build, and that pilots will continue to keep the memory of ATA alive through using their callsign on multi-player networks, including VATSIM.
  
  
• Will I still be able to download planes from the fleet page or search the schedules database?
  
  No, these pages will be taken offline and pilots will be unable to access them.
  
  
• Is it possible to get my logbook entries sent to me (including the flight times and comments) in Microsoft Excel format?
  
  Yes, however a request should be made to flightlogs@atavirtual.com including your ATAv Pilot ID number, and name. ATAv will be able to supply on a case-by-case basis, when requested by the specific pilot, their logbook directly from our databases, should the pilots be interested in continuing to keep a personal record of their flights, and an archive of past ones.
  
  
• Will I still be able to use the ATAv ACARS program?
  
  No, although the program may open and seem to function in basic manner, it will not allow you to login.
  
  
• Will I be able to edit any of my profile information?
  
  No, as you will no longer be able to login to the Pilot Control Panel.
  
  
• My question wasn't addressed here, who should I contact for questions I still have?
  
  Please contact us at help@atavirtual.com for any questions you have. However, please restrict your personal comments regarding our decision to shutdown ATAv to be in a constructive nature only. We realize many of you will disagree with our decision, and although it is finalized, it doesn't mean we aren't interested in your feedback. However, simply "venting" anger will accomplish nothing.
